POST EXCLUSIVE: NO NEWS IS BIG NEWS

Today, Fat Man Scoop made sure to remind us all that Gallo’s back is still bothering him, noting that Gallo doesn’t sit on the bench during games. Instead he lies down, stretches, or rides the bike in the tunnel. Good work there, Berman, breaking  a story that a casual observer would find obvious by watching a couple minutes of a game on TV.

It also seems that Starberman is struggling to cope with the loss of his meal ticket, insinuating that what Gallo really needs to be effective is a “drive-and-kick point guard”. We all know who Manitee is talking about, but I have a different take. The last thing Gallo needs is a ball dominating guard deciding when he gets the rock. He barely gets touches when Nate is around. Houston had his most effective years as a shooter with Ward as his point guard, not Staph. Besides, El Chupacabra wasn’t so much a drive and kick point guard as he was a pound-the-ball-into-the-ground-and-then-drive-while-completely-ignoring-his-teammates point guard.

Way to continue to make issues out of nothing slobs. Way to sell papers.

Nice Dan. We definitely get to see what life would be like for Gallo if Steph was around every time Nate is out on the floor. Drive and kick, lol.

On a side note, for a Rovian take on Steph’s career, check this out:

See how many logical fallacies you can find. I spotted something like 7. But, as the Republicans show us time and again, you can re-jigger the numbers to prove anything, if you’re motivated enough.

Also, in a rare bit of honesty, Berman relates here NBA players’ view that Marbury is the biggest douche in the league:

As Berman notes, Steph finally won something.

Steph finally won something is being very honest, I agree. I also feel that Duhon has done a nice job, but is he NBA championship caliber? Questioning our point guard status is also being very honest to me. Marbury is history and has nothing to do with it. He will be Boston’s problem or a key in their quest now, we shall see. Lee or Nate should go in a heart beat in a sign and trade on draft night, but only if it lands Ricky Rubio, “the next great point.” Question is, will Rubio enter the draft this season or next?

As for Gallo, if anything Berman didn’t say enough; but I will. It’s up in the air if Gallo will ever be over his spine pain. His back problems just hasn’t gone away, he remains with a bulging disc. Will this hinder his career is a very honest worry. It’s such an honest worry that I would be willing to trade him, especially if it would help to land someone good, like Ricky Rubio. A bulging disc on a rookie that doesn’t recede is bad news.

We should hope that the back problem with Gallo disappears, but should we be blind to the fact that it may linger and hurt his career?
