Marc Berman speculates that Stephen Curry, through Tuesday’s workout, which by all accounts was terrific, sealed the deal for the Knicks to draft him. He writes that the Knicks will certainly draft Curry unless Arizona Power Forward Jordan Hill is still on the board. Berman has a history of making up news, falsely attributing statements, and trying to pass rumor off as fact. (Example 1, example 2.)
Now, the Hill thing I’m pretty sure is typical Marc Berman fake news. No quote. No attribution. I’ve never seen Hill associated with the Knicks before and I think that if Curry and Hill are both on the board, the Knicks choose Curry in half a second.
I’m also unfortunately unconvinced that Curry closed the deal with the Knicks. Last year, Gallinari closed the deal with the Knicks after he worked out for them and then shut down all other workouts. Word today is that Curry will work out for the Wizards.
UPDATE: Hahn is reporting that Curry will indeed workout for the Wizards, but not the Wolves or anyone else. Certainly a good sign, but it would’ve been a clearer signal if cancelled his workout with the Wizards too.

Just from what has been floating around the media lately, it seems that Walsh & D’Antoni are split about who they would take at the 8 – Holiday / Curry. I have not heard Hill enter the equation and, in fact, hear that his stock is falling faster then a bride’s dress on her wedding night.
At this point, Curry does seem to be the head-horse but the dark horse Flynn is not far behind.
This is getting so interesting…
Chad Ford writes:
“But here’s what I think is really interesting. A number of agents have approached the Knicks with a proposition of sorts: You promise to draft my guy and I won’t work him out for teams drafting above the Knicks. Why? Not only are the marketing opportunities off the charts for players in New York, but many players really want to play for Mike D’Antoni.”
Sounds like D. Walsh’s plans are already working…
Draft buzz: Celts eyeing Tyreke Evans?
Question. He may have canceled work outs but his stock seems to be such on the rise. I have been hearing a lot of rumors about Curry going earlier. What you guys think. Without more workouts will Curry be able to slide to the knicks
By the way things are going it looks like Jrue Holiday for the knicks, which would still be great.
He has plenty of time to develop being 19 and although he wont be pushing the knicks into the playoffs next season, if we show enough patience with the kid i think he will be great.
In the end i think all of the picks look great no matter who we pick, if it’s rubio, curry, holiday, flynn and even jennings, they all look like great prospects.
Any trade rumours for nate and lee at the moment in regards to pushing up the second pick for rubio??
It looks to me like either Curry will be gone or someone may trade up to get him. I’m not happy about that because I think the team needs another dead eye shooter.
Curry has definitely shot up or so it seems. The Thunder definitely like him as do lots of other teams. If the Knicks are truly sold I think they might try to move up as well. I really want Curry and I’d be disappointed if we don’t get him. There are other options though that could considerably improve the team.
