Al Harrington, now a member of the New York Knicks, looked back on his time here and said of Mike D’Antoni: “He obviously didn’t want me there.”
Well, that makes all of us.

Al is a nice enough guy. You sometimes even find yourself rooting for the guy to do well. He says all the right things.
Having said that, Al is first and foremost a ball-stopper. In our system this me-first approach to the game is overwhelmingly destructive. Not only does ball-stopping retard the speed of the game but it also goes a long way towards breaking down chemistry and removing the incentive for teammates to hustle.
Al was one of the clear problems last year. Unfortunately, we did not have many other offensive weapons at our disposal so we relied heavily on him at times.
There was a point last year where Al said all of the right things and publicly commented on ways that he was trying to improve his game and play the right way. Good words but hollow in the end.
Al is better off playing on a team that needs him in the low post – preferably one that can utilize him in the half-court set. Denver is a good spot for him. They run and do the half-court set at times.
I will not miss Al and his No Sharrington ways.
slumdog,
Well said.
Speaking of ex-knicks going to other teams… David Lee going to the Golden State Warriors intrigues me the most out of anything the Knicks have done thus far during the offseason and I’ll tell you why.
During last year’s draft, Knick fans were hoping and praying that a point-guard would fall to their laps, whether it be Rubio, Flynn, or Curry. Because no one could have predicted the insanity that is David Kahn (another ex knick Darko anyone?), we all know how the draft turned out to be with the knickerbockers drafting Jordan Hill. What intrigues me about D. Lee going to the Warriors, is that this team would have been a slight dose of the potential of what the knicks could have been going future if Steph Curry dropped to the Knicks. Are they going to be a dynamic duo putting up redic. numbers every night? or will they seize to coexist and lack the appropriate chemistry? I think from a knicks fan point of view this is a very intresting scenerio to look forward to in the offseason.
